Reaching the Unreached

AWARE gives disadvantaged and vulnerable children in India the right to an education. We reach out to children in deprived communities throughout India by using education as a way of transforming their lives for the better. It also provides street/runaway children and orphans with a protected childhood so that they can go on to make well-informed decisions in life.

In the last year, AWARE has directly supported 1,249 children and reached out to a further 13,462 children and 1,364 adults. In total, we have reached out to over 16,000 people.

In the last year AWARE has supported

Samadaan shelter home at Girigowdanapalaya village by CARDTS, Bangalore for HIV-affected (not infected) boys: 43 boys
Samvedana shelter home at Mangalore by CARDTS, Bangalore for HIV infected girls: 9 girls
Vishwagram: 109 camps were organised with the help of over a hundred volunteers reaching out to 6,732 children in relief camps.
